Posh Pooches Diploma in Canine Grooming

 

Due to such a large demand Posh Pooches Grooming Parlour has expanded into a Grooming Academy. We offer a friendly and highly Professional grooming course in our well equipped Dog Grooming Parlour. This 10 day course is for people wishing to become a Professional canine beautician, who wish to learn the professional skills required for styling and grooming dogs.

The grooming course includes a combination of study based subjects and practical hands-on grooming skills.The courses will be of particular interest to those people who are intending to open their own grooming salon, or who may wish to add a dog grooming salon onto an existing business.  Alternatively we can train those who just want to learn how to groom for non-commercial use such as to do their own dogs.

The course will provide the knowledge needed and will give the student plenty of practical experience with a large variety of breeds. All students are given feedback on their achievements throughout the course and the opportunity to revise their levels if needed. At the end of the course the student will undergo a practical test and on successful completion of the course you will be awarded with a Diploma in Canine Grooming.  

We use the very latest equipment and techniques, with a maximum of two to one training ensuring you get ultimate support and the best from your  course.  As you will be training in a Dog grooming parlour environment, you will also gain business knowledge as well as an insight in to the "creative grooming" services on offer to our clients.

The course will cover : -

 - The correct handling of dogs

 - Recognition of health problems and basic canine first aid

 - Brushing, de-matting and bathing 

 - In-depth clipping, scissoring and carding 

 - Specific Breed Styling

 - Hand stripping techniques 

 - Ear cleaning, eye cleansing and nail clipping 

 - Cleaning and maintaining equipment 

 - Health and safety in the salon 

 - Customer relations 

 - Clipper/Blade/Scissor Maintenance

 - Students will receive notes and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs.

Course length: 10 days

Course Days : Tue - Sat (consecutive or split to meet the students requirments)

Course Times : 10am - 4pm

Course fee : £1500.00

A non-refundable 50% deposit will be required to secure your place on the course with the balance payable upon commencement of the course.
